Riskelo US

Terms of Use

Riskelo US (iPhone, iPad, Mac) · Version 1.0 · Last updated: September 10, 2026

These terms govern use of the Riskelo US application ("the app"), published by Robert Oulhen, an independent developer ("the publisher"). Downloading or using the app means accepting them. If you do not accept them, do not install the app, or delete it.

1. What the app is

Riskelo US is a turn-based conquest game in which the outcome of each battle is decided by trivia questions. It can be played alone against the computer, with several players around one device, or across several devices linked locally.

The app is provided as is, with no user account and no advertising. It requires no internet connection to play. It offers optional in-app purchases, described in section 5.

2. License

The publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store's usage rules.

Unless the publisher provides otherwise, the app is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which these terms supplement. Where the two conflict, whichever is more protective of the user prevails.

You may not decompile, disassemble or modify the app, resell it, rent it, redistribute it, or extract any part of its question bank for republication.

3. Intellectual property

The app, its source code, its rules, its boards, its artwork, its icon and its bank of six thousand questions are the publisher's own work and are protected by copyright. © 2026 Robert Oulhen. All rights reserved.

4. Trademarks and independence

Riskelo US is an independent game, inspired by the tradition of territorial conquest games. It is not affiliated with, associated with, authorized by, endorsed by or in any way officially connected to any board game publisher, nor to any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. All names, brands and trademarks that may designate such games belong to their respective owners, and are used nowhere in this app.

5. In-app purchases

The app offers seventeen optional question packs, sold as non-consumable items: bought once, kept for good. The base game — six subjects, 2,400 questions — is complete without any of them.

  • What you are buying. The question files ship inside the app on every device. What a purchase unlocks is the right to select that pack in your own games. This is why a player joining a multi-device table can play the host's packs without having bought them: it is a deliberate design choice, and it is stated on the packs screen inside the app.
  • Payment. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms. The publisher receives no payment details.
  • Restoring. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account and can be restored from the packs screen, on any device signed in to that account.
  • Family Sharing. Where enabled on an item, a purchase may be shared with the members of your family group, under Apple's rules.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the publisher, through Apple's Report a Problem. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
  • Purchases by children. A purchase always goes through the App Store and requires whatever authentication your device is set to demand. Purchases can be blocked entirely in Screen Time ▸ Content & Privacy Restrictions, or gated with Ask to Buy in Family Sharing.

Prices are set in the App Store and may change. A change never affects a pack already bought.

6. The content of the questions

The questions have been written and reviewed with care, and automated checks verify their form at every version. Even so, a factual error or an ambiguous wording remains possible, and some answers change over time (sporting records, discoveries, political decisions).

The questions are meant for entertainment and are in no sense a reference source. The school packs follow the shape of a typical American curriculum; they are not an official curriculum, are not endorsed by any school district or examining body, and are not a substitute for schoolwork.

Any error reported to bob.oulhen@gmail.com will be corrected in a later version.

7. Playing on several devices

Multi-device play uses the device's local links (Wi-Fi, direct device-to-device Wi-Fi). It depends on hardware, settings and system permissions outside the publisher's control, so no guarantee can be given as to its availability or the quality of the link. It is up to you to open a table only in the company of people you want to play with.

8. No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted and error-free operation.

This clause does not exclude the mandatory statutory rights of consumers under the law of their country of residence, which remain unaffected.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the app — in particular the loss of a saved game. Games are kept on your device alone: keeping them depends on your own backups.

Nothing in these terms limits the publisher's liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury.

10. Updates and availability

The publisher may release updates that fix errors, add questions or change the balance of the game. The publisher may also stop distributing the app; copies already installed keep working for as long as the operating system allows. An installed version is never removed remotely.

11. Personal data

The app collects no personal data. See the privacy policy.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may change with a new version of the app. The current text is always the one published on this page, with its date at the top.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law, the publisher being established in France. This choice does not deprive a consumer of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence, which continue to apply.
